What is Stomp? How did it start? Is it music or is it dance, and why? What other types of performance art are now part of the mainstream and how did they begin?
Stomp is a percussion group that uses the body and ordinary objects to create a physical theater performance. Stomp started in Brighton, UK. It was a collaboration between its creators, Steve McNicholas and Luke Cresswell. They first worked together in 1981, as members of the street band and a theater group. Stomp is music and dance combined, because they have beats going with choreographed moves around the stage.
What is street dancing? Street dancing is dance styles that people do outside of dance studios in any space.
